This expedition is for adventurous travelers who want to go beyond glamping and understand how Indigenous families thrive in the jungle.
Safety is paramount: you are accompanied by skilled instructors, satellite communication, and support boats.
Day 1
Meet at our Leticia office at 9:00 AM, ride an hour by boat to the Ticuna community of Mario Rivera, and set up camp. After lunch we search for pink dolphins, then continue deeper into the forest for a night walk focused on tarantulas, insects, and amphibians before dinner and rest in rooms with mosquito nets.
Day 2
Join an optional 5:00 AM birdwatching session, eat breakfast at 7:30 AM, and head into the jungle to learn about giant trees such as mata-mata, capinuri, and ceibas while spotting sloths, monkeys, and birds. After lunch we return to the river in search of more wildlife, sunset views, and nighttime caiman observation.
Day 3
Travel by taxi and boat to Peru’s Marasha Reserve. Hike approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to the lodge, discovering timber and medicinal trees en route. After lunch enjoy activities such as piranha fishing, birdwatching, canoeing, or kayaking before a nighttime canoe outing to look for caimans.
Day 4
Rise early for breakfast and take the two-hour boat back to Leticia, where we drop you at your hotel or airport.
