Day 1
Arrive in the multiethnic community of Mocagua, settle into Wirapuru Bird Lodge, and enjoy a typical lunch. In the afternoon explore Matamata creek by boat and hike through primary and secondary forest while focusing on birds of upland and flooded ecosystems before dinner.
Day 2
Start with a private boat trip to the Yanayacu creek in Peru for immersive birding across várzea and igapó habitats. After breakfast enjoy dolphin watching, lunch in Mocagua, and an afternoon hike through the reserve followed by dinner.
Day 3
Another private boat along Matamata creek highlights flooded-forest species before breakfast. Continue with a high-jungle hike, lunch in Mocagua, and a visit to the Maicuchiga monkey rehabilitation center. Dinner rounds out the day.
Day 4
Enjoy breakfast, then board the Mocagua community raft for your transfer onward, wrapping up an immersive birding expedition.
