About the Tour

The Amazon rainforest is one of the most biodiverse regions of the world and, representing 54% of all rainforest on earth, essential in our battle against climate change through the uptake of huge amounts of CO2.

During this tour you will visit a natural reserve in Colombia and one in Peru, where you can immerse yourself in the incredible flora and fauna of this special and vital region of our great green earth.

How many days?

3 Nights - 4 Days

Day 1 Tanimboca Nature Reserve

After welcoming you at the airport, we begin our trip with a taxi ride along the road via Tarapaca to the Tanimboca Nature Reserve, located 11 km from Leticia. We will have lunch and then we will walk until we reach the tree house. After a short rest, we will continue with a short walk until we reach one of the platforms where we will begin the ascent in ropes to the first platform located 40 meters high. After a panoramic view of the canopy, the highest part of the jungle, we will start to go from tree to tree with zip lines. At the end of the afternoon we will have time to rest and immerse ourselves in the beauty of the jungle. After dinner we can do a night walk to explore the jungle in the dark and be able to observe different types of insects and animals of that environment.

Accommodation: either in rooms with double beds (couples) or a room with multiple beds (groups) in a tree house (if availability permits it) or cabins

Day 2 Marasha Nature Reserve

Breakfast at the Tanimboca Reserve is followed by a taxi and boat ride to the Marasha Nature Reserve in Peru. We will have to walk for approximately 1 hour and 45minutes until we reach the Reserve´s facilities. During the walk, you will experience the jungle, learn about timber and medicinal trees. Furthermore, there is the opportunity to observe different species of birds that inhabit the area. After lunch at the Nature Reserve we can go Piranha fishing, bird watching, canoeing or kayaking. In the evening, after dinner, you have the option to head out for some caiman spotting.

Day 3 Puerto Nariño

After breakfast we will continue our journey by boat to Puerto Nariño which we will reach before lunch. We will have time to explore the village, check out the Natatuma Foundation where animals that inhabit the Tarapoto Lake and its surrounding are displayed in form of statues. We can also head to the viewpoint – a fantastic place for photos of the village.

After a typical lunch at the Las Magaritas restaurant we can take a boat to visit and swim in the Tarapoto Lake about 20 minutes from the village, go Piranha fishing or loom out for pink and grey dolphins. We end our third day with dinner at Doña Luz or we can help you explore some typical local street food.

Day 4 Leticia

We will have breakfast early in the morning and take the boat to Leticia, which will take us around 2 hours. We will then drop you off in town or take you to the airport as requested.

Useful informations

High water levels can be expected in February, March, Abril and the highest levels can be expected all through May and beginning of June. The water levels drop from mid-June.​

Transportation by land and water, meals (3x breakfast, 3x lunch, 3x dinner), accommodation for 3 nights, non-alcoholic refreshments and entrance fees as well as professional, multilingual, local Amazonian guides and a contribution to our educational and our environmental project

Your flight tickets, the entrance tax to Leticia as well as any alcoholic drinks are NOT included.
