When you come to Leticia remember you are stepping into the Amazon jungle, so pack light to make travelling as easy as possible. We recommend you bring the following things with you to feel more comfortable:
Travel Documents Your Passport (and copies), travel insurance certificate, visa if applicable and travel tickets.
Credit card and/or cash There are several cash machine available in Leticia and there are exchange places where you can exchange USD, EUROS, Reales and Soles.
Backpack We recommend you travel with a backpack as you will have to carry your luggage in some areas. The Osprey Pack Atmos AG 65 is a great option.
First Aid Kit including anti-histamines and any medication or prescription you need. One of these First Aid Kits would work fine: The Aootek Survival Kit or the smaller option from Surviveware.
Mosquitos repellent We recommend NOPIKEX (DEET). If you know about a DEET-free option that works well, take that one along and let us know – we would love to find a good DEET-free mosquito repellent.
Flashlight/headlamp We recommend bringing along a headlamp like this one. It is rechargable and waterproof.
Rechargable Batteries Never go without batteries, and preferable rechargable ones. If you don’t have them yet, we recommend the BESTSUN batteries & charger.
Waterproof case for electronics We recommend you bring along one like this.
Travel plug/international adapter We like this one, it is compact and universal.
