AMAZON WILDERNESS EXPEDITION

The “Amazon Wilderness Expedition” is our most intense and “off the beaten path” tour and lets you go deeper into the rainforest, combining traditional healing ceremonies with. You will learn about the flora and fauna of the Amazon and will be able to partake in indigenous rituals as well as learn some survival tricks.

Please note, that it is recommended to only eat light meals before this expedition in case you wish to clean your body and mind with the help of the traditional and indigenous medicine of Ayahuasca. Please do not eat any red meat or fatty foods a few days beforehand.

DAY 1: LETICIA + TABATINGA

We will explore Leticia (Colombia) and Tabatinga (Brazil) in Tuk-Tuks

DAY 2: CLEANING CEREMONY

Today we will head into the rainforest and participate in a cleaning ceremony

DAY 3-6: JUNGLE CAMP

We will hike through the rainforest, learn more about the flora and fauna + spot amazing creatures

DAY 7: TIKUNA OF SAN MARTIN

We will reach the Tikuna community of San Martin today where we will stay the night

DAY 8: PTO NARIÑO + LETICIA

We will hike to Pto Nariño + continue by boat to Leticia where we stay the night.

DAY 9: END

You will have the day free, but we will arrange transprotation to the airport for you

DAY 1: LETICIA + TABATINGA (-/L/D)

We will pick you up at the airport and bring you to your hotel where you will meet the group and where we will have a light lunch. In the afternoon we will do a city tour in tuk-tuks, have a welcome drink in Brazil and go to a typical restaurant to talk about the journey ahead.

DAY 2: CLEANING CEREMONY + AYAHUASCA (B/L/D)

We start the day with an early breakfast before we head out to start our 2 hour hike. We will reach the community before lunch. There we will be welcomed by the shaman who will teach you about the importance of the Malocca within the tribe and the sacred medicines that are used there such as Mambe, Coca, Rape, Ambil and ground tobacco.

In the afternoon we will prepare the Ayahuasca with the Shaman and learn more about this indigenous healing medicine. After a very light dinner of only fresh fruits, we will get ready for the cleaning ceremony and afterwards continue with the Ayahuasca ceremony (only if you would like to join).

DAY 3-6: JUNGLE CAMP (B/L/D)

During the next few days we will be hiking through the rainforest, where you will get the chance to learn more about the flora and fauna. We will take longer breaks for lunch and to rest a little before continuing our hikes. Once we have found a good spot we set camp and make your meal over the fire. Day 6 is all about refuelling and relaxing. You can swim in the river, go fishing or do some smaller hikes. There will be time for stories and you can learn some more tricks for survival.

DAY 7: TIKUNA OF SAN MARTIN (B/L/D)

Today the goal is to hike to the Tikuna community of San Martin, where they will be waiting for us with a lovely home-cooked meal and comfortable bed. We will end the evening reflecting on our experience on the jungle and finishing off with a small ceremony.

DAY 8: PTO NARIÑO + LETICIA (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we walk to Puerto Nariño where we will have time for a stroll and lunch before we head back to Leticia and our hotel. We will have a farewell dinner in town before we rest.

DAY 9: RETURN (B/-/-)

After breakfast you have time to explore Leticia on your own. We will arrange transportation from the hotel to the airport in time to catch your flight.

Here are our fixed dates for 2020. We would like to keep the groups small so will only be exepting 5 people per group.

UPGRADE

If you would like to upgrade to a single room, the additional price would be 600.000 COP per person (this applies for Day 1, Day 7 and Day 8)

WHAT IS INCLUDED?​

Transportation by land and water, meals (8x breakfast, 8x lunch, 8x dinner), accommodation for 8 nights, non-alcoholic refreshments and entrance fees as well as professional, multilingual, local Amazonian guides and a contribution to our educational and our environmental project.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED?​

Your flight tickets, the entrance tax to Leticia as well as any alcoholic drinks are NOT included.

WATER LEVEL

High water levels can be expected in February, March, Abril and the highest levels can be expected all through May and beginning of June. The water levels drop from mid-June.​
